RESOLUTION NO. 68-003 <br /> RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR, NORBERT F. MAHER <br /> FOR HIS LONG AND DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO <br /> THE RESIDENTS OF THE VILLAGE OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> AND EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE VILLAGE <br /> COUMCIL AND CITIZENS . <br /> WHEREAS, Norbert F. Maher's service as the Superintendent of Public <br /> Works for the Village of St. Anthony covered the difficult and formative years <br /> of the Village; and, <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure as Public Works Superintendent, the <br /> Village grew from a small community with few municipal improvements to a <br /> community supplying all the municipal services required in an urban area; and, <br /> WHEREAS, this growth in number of residents and in the extension of <br /> municipal services occurred during the time of Mr. Maher's service, which was <br /> exemplified by a personal attention to his duties in a manner above and beyond <br /> that which was required of him; and, <br /> t4HEREAS, by his service he has earned the respect and the resulting <br /> appreciation and affection of the present and past public officials and of the <br /> residents of the Village of St. Anthony; and, <br /> k*IEREAS, due to his untimely death in the prime of his life, there <br /> will be a loss to the entire community and particularly the children who recall <br /> his many kindnesses, especially during the Christmas season; and, <br /> WHEREAS, his service represented the highest example of the work of <br /> a true public servant; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of <br /> St. Anthony Village by this resolution extends to the wife and family of <br /> Norbert F. Maher, condolences in their loss of a husband and father, and <br /> express the appreciation of the Council on behalf of the citizens of the <br /> Village of St. Anthony for the many years of service which he gave to his <br /> community, which service has contributed to making the Village of St. Anthony <br /> a more wholesome and desirable community in which to live. <br /> Adopted this 23rd day of January, 1968 <br /> mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Vi ll t�- e <br /> a <br /> Vi age Manager <br />
