RESOLUTION NO. 68-022 <br /> RESOLUTION RECEIVING ENGINEER'S PRELIMINARY <br /> REPORTS ON IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 1968 <br /> AND CALLING FOR HEARING ON THE IMPROVEMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to resolutions of the Village Council adopted <br /> February 13, 1968, and March 26, 1968, reports have been prepared by the <br /> Village Engineer, Comstock and Davis, advising the Council in a preliminary <br /> way as to whether the improvements proposed for the year 1968 are feasible, <br /> and how they are best accomplished, together with the estimated cost of each <br /> improvement. The reports cover the following improvements : <br /> Item L. Kenzie Terrace. This improvement involves the installation <br /> of curbing and sidewalk and the extension of a water main to serve the Lowry <br /> Grove Trailer Court area. The work will be done by Hennepin County as part of <br /> the county highway construction work on Kenzie Terrace. The estimated cost <br /> of the improvement is $28,000.00. <br /> Item 2, Street Improvements for the Area Lying North of 37th Avenue <br /> and East of Silver Lake Road. This project involves the permanent surfacing <br /> of 39th Avenue, Penrod Lane, M acalaster Drive, Shamrock Drive, Fordham Drive, <br /> Foss Road, Chandler Drive, and Highcrest Road, together with concrete curb <br /> and gutter. The total estimated cost of concrete surfacing is $381,910 and <br /> • of bituminous surfacing is $312.980. The Council will attempt to coordinate <br /> the work on these improvements with the improvement of Silver Lane which <br /> was ordered in 1967. <br /> Item 3. Storm Sewer Improvement for the Entire Area Designated as <br /> Drainage District No. IT on the Storm Sewer System and Drainage Area Map <br /> Attached to the Engineer's Report. This includes land furnished an outlet by <br /> Ramsey County Ditch No. 3. The total estimated cost of the improvement is <br /> $178,503. <br /> The above improvement reports were received by the Council on April <br /> 9, 1968. <br /> NIW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council consider said improve- <br /> ments in accordance with the engineer's reports, that the cost of the improve- <br /> ments be assessed against lands benefited in the manner provided by Minnesota <br /> Statutes 429.051 to 429.081 and that said Council hold a public hearing on <br /> the proposed improvement at 8:00 P.M. on May 2, 1968, in the Council Chambers <br /> of the Village Hall. <br /> The clerk shall give published and mailed notice of the hearing on <br /> the improvements to the landowners liable to be assessed for the costs. <br /> Adopted by the Council this 9th day of April, 1968. <br /> • <br /> Mayo <br /> ATTEST: <br /> C <br /> Vi l la a erk V' lege Manager <br />
