RESOLUTION 79-040A <br /> A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE DEPARTME, <br /> REVENUE INCREASE THE CITY OF ST. ANTHO%1 EVY <br /> LIMIT BASE PER CAPITA TO 85 PERCENT 0 r <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY AVERAGE AND LIMI IN AMOUNT <br /> OF THE PROPERTY TAX LEVY IN R F T 1980 <br /> EUDGET. <br /> Whereas , the City Council of the City of St. Anthony feels <br /> that an increase in the levy limit base is necessary to provide <br /> flexibility to maintain service levels . <br /> Whereas , the City may not have to actually levy , in property <br /> taxes payable, all of the increase in the levy limit base . <br /> Whereas , the City Council reasonably has determined that , if <br /> part of the increase in the levy limit base is levied, the net <br /> impact on property taxpayers is negligible due to changes in pro- <br /> perty tax laws and due to an increase in State Aid to Local Govern- <br /> ment. <br /> Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the City Council of the <br /> City of St. Anthony does hereby request that the Department of <br /> Revenue increase the City' s levy limit base by $44 , 381 , which is <br /> the difference between the present per capita levy limit base and <br /> • 85 percent of the per capita of Hennepin County levy limit base <br /> times the City' s Hennepin County population. <br /> Be It Further Resolved that the City Manager is hereby directed <br /> to submit to the City Council a proposed 1980 City budget which <br /> provides for not more than an X percent* increase in the total <br /> property tax levy for taxes pay a le n 1980 . <br /> Adopted this day of 1979 . <br /> Mayo <br /> i <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Cit ClerX_ 7Z-Z <br /> Reviewed for Administration: <br /> • *Suggest approximately 8 percent <br />
