RESOLUTION 79-044 <br /> A RESOLUTION CONTINUING AND PROVIDING <br /> DIRECTION TO THE CIVIL DEFENSE RESERVE <br /> PROGRAM. <br /> Whereas , the City Council of the City of St. Anthony desires <br /> to continue the Civil Defense Program and to provide more specific <br /> direction to the program. <br /> Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the City Council of the <br /> City of St. Anthony agrees to continue the program and has also <br /> agreed to the following: <br /> 1) The Civil Defense Reserve unit is to be distinctly <br /> separate from the Fire Department, including the <br /> Reserves . <br /> 2) Civil Defense Reserve members are to train and meet <br /> separately from Fire Department members , except where <br /> invited to sessions relevant to the Civil Defense <br /> function. <br /> 3) Activities and functions are to be divided into per- <br /> missible, optional/discretionary, and prohibited. Civil <br /> Defense Reserve personnel are not to be directly in- <br /> volved in fire suppression. Once a fire is completely <br /> out, their activities are to be discretionary. <br /> 4) Civil Defense Reserve personnel are to be provided <br /> with a basic uniform not to include boots or heavy <br /> winter jackets. <br /> 5) The City will establish a separate budget of not <br /> more than $200 per year for supplies for the group. <br /> 6) The group is to propose work projects or exercises <br /> in addition to their training. Suggested projects are <br /> the delivery of the public safety newsletter, painting <br /> fire hydrants , shoveling snow from hydrants, painting <br /> and cleaning around the fire station, assisting with <br /> such activities as Bike Safety Days , the Red Cross <br /> Donor program, the Crime Prevention Program and other <br /> public safety programs as deemed feasible by the Manager <br /> and Fire Chief. <br /> Adopted this s�+[o day of 1979 . <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: &t.4-6 <br /> City Clerk <br />
