NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> • YEAR XVIII (1992) URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM <br /> Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony in cooperation with <br /> Hennepin County, pursuant to Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of <br /> 1974, as amended, is holding a public hearing on Tuesday, April 14, 1992, at 7:45 P.M. in <br /> the Council Chambers of City Hall, 3301 Silver Lake Road (enter northeast door). <br /> The public hearing is on the housing and community development needs of the City and <br /> Urban Hennepin County, the Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block <br /> Grant Program Statement of Objectives and the proposed use of the Year XVIII Urban <br /> Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant Program planning allocation of <br /> $28,044 by the City. <br /> During the July 1, 1992 to June 30, 1993 program year it is estimated that no additional <br /> program income from locally funded CDBG activities will be available to the City. <br /> The Statement of Objectives basically consists of the following seven program areas: (1) <br /> ADMINISTRATION, to maximize program benefit and effectively administer program <br /> funds; (2) HOUSING, to rehabilitate and assist in the development of housing which is <br /> • affordable to low- and moderate-income households; (3) NEIGHBORHOOD <br /> REVITALIZATION, to maintain and preserve viable neighborhoods through concentrated <br /> community development activities; (4) PUBLIC FACILITIES, to improve existing and assist <br /> in the development of new public facilities which benefit low- and moderate-income persons, <br /> (5) ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, to provide financial assistance to businesses which will <br /> provide or retain employment to the benefit of low- and moderate-income persons; (6) <br /> PUBLIC SERVICES, to expand and improve the quantity and quality of public services <br /> available to low- and moderate-income persons; and (7) REMOVAL OF <br /> ARCHITECTURAL BARRIERS, to alleviate conditions which restrict the mobility and <br /> accessibility of elderly and handicapped persons. <br /> The City of St. Anthony is proposing to undertake the following activities with Year XVIII <br /> Urban Hennepin County CDBG funds starting about July 1, 1992: <br /> Activigy Budget <br /> Single Family Housing Rehabilitation $10,000 <br /> Senior Citizens Program $5,608 <br /> Kenzie Terrace Sidewalk Project $41866 <br /> Handicap Accessible Playground Equipment $4,570 <br /> Handicap Accessibilty/Study $3,000 <br /> • <br />
