CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br /> RESOLUTION 05-091 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY <br /> COLUMBIA TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION TO <br /> CONDUCT A WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTIVITY FEASIBILITY STUDY <br /> FOR THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> WHEREAS, at a worksession on June 2, 2005 City Staff presented information to the <br /> City Council on wireless Internet (Wi Fi) system; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of the information presented at the June worksession and based <br /> on Staff information that there are areas in the industrial and commercial <br /> areas of the City that remain underserved by the Internet, the City Council <br /> asked that Cheryl Johnson and Tom Asp, representatives from Columbia <br /> Telecommunications Corporation (formerly of Vichow/Krause) be invited <br /> to do a presentation before the City Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the August worksession, Ms.Johnson and Mr. Asp provided information <br /> about wireless systems and discussed specific connectivity issues that the <br /> ® City would need to consider before installing a Wi Fi system; and <br /> WHEREAS, Staff was directed by the City Council to request a Request for Proposal and <br /> received a proposal from Columbia Telecommunications Corporation on <br /> November 16, 2005 to conduct a feasibility study in the amount of$14,500. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of St. Anthony <br /> hereby approves the proposal submitted by Columbia Telecommunications Corp. to conduct a <br /> wireless Internet connectivity feasibility study for the City in the amount of$14,500. <br /> Adopted this 22nd day of November, 2005. <br /> ayor ` <br /> ATTEST: <br /> City Clerk <br /> • Review for Administration: <br /> Ci y Man ge <br /> FACouncil Meetings\2005\1 1222005\1 105 Res for WiFi Feasibility study.doc <br />
