0 CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br /> RESOLUTION 06-011 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br /> OF ST. ANTHONY AND HENNEPIN COUNTY FOR ADDITIONAL ELECTION <br /> EQUIPMENT TO MEET HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT (NAVA) REQUIREMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, the federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) legislation requires the State <br /> of Minnesota to implement Assisted Voting Technology (AVT) in 2006 to <br /> be in compliance with HAVA; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Task Force drafted the County HAVA plan. This <br /> plan was approved by Hennepin County Board on November 15, 2005; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Hennepin County will purchase the AVT equipment with the allocation of <br /> federal funds and the City of St. Anthony will lease the equipment for the <br /> cost of the annual maintenance contract for each piece of equipment; and <br /> O WHEREAS, Hennepin County will provide the AVT equipment to cities for each <br /> P tY <br /> precinct and one for city hall absentee voting; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony would be responsible for the annual maintenance <br /> costs and programming costs for these voting machines. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the City of St. Anthony hereby approves the lease agreement <br /> between the City of St. Anthony and Hennepin County for additional election <br /> equipment to meet Help America Vote Act (HAVA) requirements. <br /> Adopted this 10th day of January, 2006. <br /> M yor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Review for Administration: ' <br /> OCity Manager <br /> FACouncil Meetings\2006\01102006\resleaseagreement.doc <br />
