• WHEREAS, St. Anthony Middle School and St. Anthony High School reside at the <br /> intersection of 33`d Avenue NE and Rankin Road where the existing 33`d <br /> Avenue sidewalk does not have a safe crossing to the north or south <br /> pedestrian trails on Highcrest Road and Old Highway 8; and <br /> WHEREAS, The SRTS grant program would provide the impetus as well as <br /> supplemental funds to expedite the constructing of the Highcrest Road and <br /> Old Highway 8 project. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of St. <br /> Anthony has identified as a priority the sidewalk along Highcrest Road and Old <br /> Highway 8 to provide a safe route to school for the children that attend Wilshire <br /> Park Elementary School, St. Anthony Middle School and St. Anthony High <br /> School; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of St. Anthony <br /> agrees that City Staff should prepare and submit an application to the Minnesota <br /> Safe Routes to School Grant Program for funding consideration of the <br /> aforementioned sidewalk project. <br /> • Adopted this 27th day of June 2006. <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Reviewed for administration: <br /> City Manager <br /> • <br />
