CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br /> Resolution 08-063 <br /> A RESOLUTION TO OPPOSE THE GRAND ROUNDS TRAIL SYSTEM MISSING <br /> LINK THROUGH THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE AS PROPOSED BY THE <br /> MINNEAPOLIS PARK AND RECREATION BOARD <br /> WHEREAS, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board established the Grand Rounds <br /> Trail System which are a parkway system connecting parks, lakes, rivers, <br /> creeks and neighborhoods throughout the City of Minneapolis; and <br /> WHEREAS, the through the development of the Grand Rounds Trail System there has <br /> been"Missing Link" to the system; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board held an Open House on July <br /> 1, 2008 at Windom Park to receive comments on the proposed Grand <br /> Rounds Missing Link to which the City of St. Anthony was not notified; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board held a meeting on September <br /> • 3, 2008. One of the agenda items was the Missing Link of the Grand <br /> Rounds Trail System in which the trail would pass through the City of St. <br /> Anthony on the north side of St. Anthony Boulevard; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony had not been notified of the Grand Rounds Trail <br /> System and the intent of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and <br /> have no intent of funding or supporting the Grand Rounds Trail System. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony <br /> hereby opposes the Grand Rounds Trail System Missing Link through the City of St. <br /> Anthony Village as proposed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. <br /> Adopted this 23rd day of September, 2008 <br /> 4ayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> City Clerk <br /> • Reviewed for Administration: <br /> ACiZt4ynager <br /> Z:\Council Meetings\2008\09232008\res grand rounds opposition.doc <br />
