CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br /> RESOLUTION 11-043 <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING HENNEPIN COUNTY SHERIFF'S NEW REGIONAL <br /> 911 EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY <br /> WHEREAS, St. Anthony Village values public safety as a core service of government; and <br /> WHEREAS, reliable emergency communications is a critical component in the delivery of <br /> public safety; and <br /> WHEREAS, St. Anthony Village receives police and fire dispatch service from the <br /> Hennepin County Sheriff's Office,with 4,181 police dispatch events handled <br /> in 2010 within the Village of St. Anthony;and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office currently provides dispatch to 36 <br /> entities across Hennepin County from a 60 plus year-old building in Golden <br /> Valley scheduled to be replaced in 2012/2013 with a new facility on county- <br /> owned property in Plymouth, adjacent to the Adult Correctional Facility at <br /> Parkers Lake; and <br /> WHEREAS, the new Hennepin County Sheriff's Office emergency communications <br /> facility is important to public safety. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of St. Anthony Village supports the <br /> construction of a new Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Regional 911 Communications <br /> Facility; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that due to the regional nature of this project, the City of <br /> St. Anthony Village encourages the Minnesota State Legislature and Federal Elected <br /> Officials to support this project through state bonding and state and federal grants. <br /> Adopted this 26th day of 2011 <br /> t4yor <br /> 6 <br /> ATTEST: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Review for Administration: ._ <br /> City M ager <br />
