Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 12-025 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR THE <br /> MISSISSIPPI WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION <br /> WHEREAS, the cities of Minneapolis, St. Paul, Lauderdale, and St. Anthony Village and <br /> the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board are parties to a joint powers <br /> agreement entitled JOINT AND COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR <br /> THE MISSISSIPPI WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION <br /> (the"Agreement"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Agreement provides for the creation of a watershed management <br /> organization pursuant to, and in accordance with, Minnesota Statutes, <br /> Sections 10313.201 to 10313.253 (the "Mississippi Watershed Management <br /> Organization"or"MWMO");and <br /> WHEREAS, the cities of Columbia Heights, Fridley, and Hilltop wish to join the <br /> MWMO;and <br /> WHEREAS, the current parties to the Agreement are willing to accept the cities of <br /> Columbia Heights, Fridley and Hilltop as members of the MWMO, <br /> incorporating into the territory of the MWMO those parts of the cities of <br /> Columbia Heights, Fridley, and Hilltop that were formerly included within <br /> the jurisdiction of the Six Cities Watershed Management Organization;and <br /> WHEREAS, the parties have proposed an amended joint powers agreement that would <br /> include, in addition to the original members of the MWMO, the cities of <br /> Columbia Heights, Fridley, and Hilltop(the"Amended Agreement"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that approving the Amended Agreement is <br /> reasonable,prudent,and in the best interest of the public. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony, <br /> Minnesota,as follows: <br /> 1. The Amended Agreement is approved and the Mayor and Clerk are authorized and <br /> directed to execute the Amended Agreement. <br /> 2. Upon completion of Appendix A of the Amended Agreement, which is the legal <br /> description for the jurisdictional area of the MWMO including those parts of the cities of Columbia <br /> Heights, Fridley, and Hilltop that were formerly included in the jurisdictional area of the Six Cities <br /> 3967170 CLL MD160-1 I <br />
