CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> Resolution 12-046 <br /> A RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY <br /> OF THE KIWANIS CLUB OF ST. ANTHONY, MINNESOTA <br /> WHEREAS, in, 1915, the Kiwanis was founded in Detroit, Michigan; and <br /> WHEREAS, more than 600,000 Kiwanis-family members in 96 countries make their mark <br /> by responding to the needs of their communities <br /> WHEREAS, through these efforts, Kiwanis International truly is "Serving the Children of <br /> the World", and <br /> WHEREAS, by this expansion to St Anthony Village the St. Anthony Kiwanis club began <br /> its service on May 3`d ' 1962 at Apache Plaza, and <br /> WHEREAS, in the convening years became a valuable community partner with the civic, <br /> educational and governmental entities and currently donates over$10,000 a <br /> year in the community and, <br /> WHERAS, the cooperative spirit exhibited by Kiwanis throughout the years by actively <br /> contributing to the overall well being of the community through the Key Club, <br /> Builder's Club, Kids Club, Circle K Club and Aktion Club, and <br /> WHEREAS, it's continually enthusiastic involvement in VillageFest,the St Anthony <br /> Chamber of Commerce, St Anthony/New Brighton School District and the <br /> City of St Anthony. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony <br /> that we recognize the 50'h Anniversary of the St Anthony Kiwanis Club and its commitment <br /> to St. Anthony, Minnesota and declare May 3`d , 2012 St Anthony Kiwanis Day. <br /> Adopted this 24'h day of April, 2012. <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: khJA <br /> City Clerk <br /> Reviewed for Administration: va,)f <br /> City Manager <br />
