Ordinance Relating to Veterans Day-the 1974 Legislature changed the <br /> day from the observance of Veterans Day from the 4th Monday in October back <br /> to the traditional date in November thus making the attached Ordinance <br /> necessary. <br /> ACTION: Recommend approval. <br /> 7. Old Business <br /> 8. Nev Business <br /> a. Tim Smith re: Recreation Center in Shopping Center. Mr. Smith has <br /> • approached the staff regarding his installing a recreation center in the <br /> quarters now occupied by the Village Locksmith Shop. We have explained to <br /> him that the Council will have to approve billiards, juke box, pinball, etc. <br /> licenses for the operation and he indicated he would like to discuss his <br /> proposal with the Council. We are checking ordinances; statutes, etc. <br /> regarding required restroom facilities, etc. <br /> ACTION: Council <br /> b. Dorsey Firm regarding Registration of bicycles. Enclosed is a letter <br /> from Larry regarding regulation of bicycles. It seems that these regulations <br /> cover some of the points we discussed last meeting. <br /> ACTION: Council <br /> 9. Communications/Petitions <br /> a. American Water Works Association re: Safety Record. Enclosed is a letter <br /> Larry Hamer recently received from AWWA regarding St. Anthony's Water Dept. <br /> safety record for 1973. <br /> ACTION: Recommend Council commend department for fine record. <br /> b. Comstock & Davis regarding Lamppa Construction Company request for <br /> additional time for project. Enclosed please find a letter from Ice Comstock <br /> regarding Lamppa Construction request for additional time for project and <br /> Lamppa's letter of request. <br /> • ACTION: Recommend we discuss further with the City Engineer and Attorney <br /> before taking action. <br />
