VILLAGE OF ST, ANTHONY <br /> COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> • February 13, 1968 <br /> The regular meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 8:00 o'clock P.M. <br /> The following were present at roll call : <br /> O'Connor, Springer, Emond, Crouse <br /> Absent: Dougherty <br /> Upon motion by Councilman Emond and seconded by Councilman Crouse it was <br /> moved that the minutes of tthe regular meeting of January 23, 1968, be <br /> approved as submitted. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Leon motion by Councilman Emond and seconded by Councilman Crouse it was -- <br /> moved that the minutes of the special meeting of February 2, 19689 be app- <br /> roved as submitted. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Mr. Robert Bailey, Chairman Park Board, reviewed the minutes of the Park <br /> Board meeting of February 6, 1968. He stated the construction of an addit- <br /> ional tennis court, as budgeted, would be deferred to 1969 if the Council <br /> was in agreement because the school District had not provided funds in its <br /> 1968 Budget and that a resultant saving in the construction of two courts <br /> over one would be lost. The Council concurred in the recommendation and <br /> instructed the Park Board to submit an alternate proposal for consideration. <br /> The Council next discussed the Minutes of the Planning Board meeting of <br /> February 5, 1968. Mr. Norman Chamison, owner of the Northgate Motel , app- <br /> eared regarding a proposed addition and parking lot layout. A sketch was <br /> presented and Mr. Chamison outlined his parking needs and pointed out a <br /> reserve parking area available on the West side of the Building. After <br /> considerable discussion, Mayor O'Connor moved and seconded by Councilman Crouse <br /> that the Northgate Motel building and parking plan be approved as submitted. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Mr. Kelly, representative of Towle Mortgage Company, Managers of the St. Ant- <br /> hony Shopping Center, appeared regarding the Food Town Inc. parcel pick up <br /> layout, He presented a sketch outlining the proposal and indicated that <br /> by utilizing the curb.area in front of Food Town and Schuler Shoes that <br /> he had 120' of curb area. He stated the store consisted of 19,000 sq. ft. <br /> and that supply loading would be from the S.W. corner of the building off set <br /> from the former St. Anthony State Bank building. After considerable discuss- <br /> ion, Mayor O!Connor moved and seconded by Councilman Crouse that the request <br /> of Food Town Inc. for a cigarette and 3.2 Off Sale Beer License be approved. <br /> • Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Emond, Crouse <br /> Nay: Springer <br /> Absent not voting: Dougherty <br /> Motion Carried. <br />
