ANTHONY <br /> • COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> May 14, 1968 <br /> The regular meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 8:00 o'clock P.M. <br /> The following were present at roll call : <br /> O'Connor, Springer, Dougherty, Crouse, Emond <br /> Absent: None <br /> Motion by Councilman Springer and seconded by Councilman Crouse that the <br /> minutes of the regular meeting of April 23, 1968, be approved as submitted. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Mr. Robert Bailey presented the minutes of the Park Board meeting of May 7, <br /> 1968. <br /> Various items of the Park Board agenda were reviewed. The location of the <br /> Park Shelter was discussed. The #2 site proposal located off of the open <br /> play circle was recommended. The Board was to meet with abutting property <br /> owners to discuss the shelter site later in the week. The matter of the <br /> naming of Ramsey Park was discussed. <br /> Councilman Crouse moved and seconded by Councilman Dougherty that the <br /> recommendation to name the Ramsey County Park, Emerald Park, be approved. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> A proposed park sign by the J. C.'s for Central R3rk was discussed. It was <br /> felt by the Council that the sign should not exceed 3 ' x 5' with letters <br /> approximately 8" in height. <br /> Motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Councilman Springer that the <br /> proposal of the St. Anthony J. C. 's to place an identification sign in Central <br /> Park be approved with the sign limitation of 3 ' x 5' with 8" letters. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> The joint school-Village recreation program was discussed. A commission <br /> composed of a school board member, the Supt. of Schools, a Council member, <br /> The Village Manager and the Chairman of the Park Board as Chairman of the <br /> commission was proposed by the representatives of the Park Board, School <br /> Board, and Village Council . After discussion, Councilman Dougherty moved and <br /> seconded by Councilman Crouse that the proposal be tabled for further study. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Crouse, Dougherty <br /> Nay: O' Connor, Emond, Springer <br /> Motion Not Carried. <br />
