Logan Avenue, West St. Paul #2 $1_151 .00 <br /> Total $3,682.00 <br /> Motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Mayor O'Connor that the low bid of <br /> Bachke and Tein, Inc. in the amount of $1 ,785.00 be accepted for the painting and <br /> decorating of the bar and lounge of liquor stores #1 and #2. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> • Mr. Lloyd Sauter, Apache Plaza Manager, appeared to request a variance in the <br /> burning ordinance. He explained the design of the incinerator and the fire pre- <br /> cautions taken in its use. Mr. Kasmarik, G. C. Murphy explained the financial <br /> hardship to his firm if their incinerator was closed down. He explained the safety <br /> features and presented drawings to the Council. A representative of the Apache <br /> Medical Center also appeared and requested a variance from the Burning Ordinance. <br /> He also felt that the prohibition o¢ burning would be a hardship on the Medical <br /> Center. Mr. Sauter stated trash would have to be stored and hauled rather than <br /> being burned as it accumulates thus making for a greater hazard. After discussion, <br /> motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Mayor O'Connor that a 60 day extension <br /> be granted to the three requests for variances and that the State Fire Marshal 's <br /> office be requested to render an opinion as to the safety of the three operations <br /> and also make a recommendation as to types of materials and quantities of materials <br /> that can be safely handled by the aforementioned incinerators. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Recess declared from 10:15 P. M. - 10:25 P. M. all present. <br /> The 4th quarter liquor store report was received. The Council commended the <br /> liquor store manager and the Village finance director for the fine report and <br /> ordered said report filed. <br /> The Village attorney read a letter to the Council regarding his opinion on the <br /> • dissolving of the Fire Department Relief Association Fund. After discussion, <br /> Councilman Crouse moved and seconded by Mayor O'Connor that the Village attorney <br /> be directed to take the necessary legal steps in the dissolution of the St. Anthony <br /> Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association Fund. <br />
