Motion carried. • Mr. Haggerty, Fire Department Union representative, appeared asking for a settle- ment very soon on the raises for the firemen. Council agreed to try and make a definite decision by the next meeting and certainly by the 1st of April. Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Levandowski that we approve the certificates of the engineer for Improvement 1969-2 in the amount of $967.02. Motion carried. Gordon Hedlund and his architect, Al Hoffineyer, appeared and discussed in more detail the proposed plans for the nursing home on Penrod Lane. Several residents from that area appeared and voiced strong opposition to the proposed nursing home. For motion approving Hedlund Nursing Home see Appendix A attached. Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Kukielka that the Planning Board be requested to do a study and make recommedation to the residents within a month of the maximum land value use of the land lying between the railroad track on the South, Penrod Lane on the East, Silver Lake Road on the West and Silver Lane on the North. Voting on the motion: Aye: Miedtke, Crouse, Kukielka, Levandowski Nay: Emond Motion carried. Mayor Miedtke ruled to table discussion and action on Council Rules until the next meeting, March 24, 1970, and that it be put on the agenda for that meeting. Council decided to meet on Tuesday, March 31, 1970, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. to discuss and work on ordinances and fees. Motion by Councilman Levandowski and seconded by Councilman Crouse that we approve the verified claims. Motion carried. Discussion and action on the snowmobile ordinance was tabled until the March 24, 1970 meeting. Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Levandowski that the meet- ing be adjourned.
