ANTHONY <br /> COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> June 2, 1970 <br /> The special meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 8:00 o'clock P.M. <br /> The following were present at roll call : Crouse, Emond, Miedtke, Levandowski <br /> Absent: Kukielka <br /> Also present : Village Attorney, Bartel <br /> Village Mgr., John Printon <br /> The Mayor opened the hearing on the suspension of Patrolman Joseph Sturdevant as <br /> requested by Local #57. <br /> Mr. McDonald, Union representative, inquired as to whether the Village Council had <br /> read the letter of particulars from Local #57 president. He was informed that the <br /> Council had been supplied with all of the data pertinent to the hearing held with <br /> the Village Manager. The matter was discussed at length. Mr. McDonald stated <br /> that the offense under discussion was not a suspension type offense in other <br /> cities. He also stated point systems were used by some communities for discipli- <br /> nary action. Mr. Metro, past Union president, felt the suspension was unjust and <br /> that a review board should be set up or a policy system adopted. <br /> The Council discussed the matter both pro and con. <br /> The Village Manager was directed to submit a penalty schedule to the Council with- <br /> in 30 days. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Emond that the Village <br /> Managers suspension of two days against Patrolman Joseph Sturdevant be upheld. <br /> Aye: Miedtke, Crouse, Emond <br /> Nay: Levandowski <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Councilman Crouse introduced Resolution #70-018 and moved its adoption. <br /> RESOLUTION #70-018 <br /> A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION <br /> OF COUNCILMAN KUKIELKA <br /> The resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Levandowski. <br /> Councilman Crouse further added the resignation was accepted with regret and re- <br /> quested the Council to forward a plaque to Couhcilman Kukielka for his service to <br /> the community. <br /> Voting on the resolution: <br /> Aye: Miedtke, Crouse, Emond, Levandowski <br /> Nay: None <br />
