Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sauer to direct the City Engineer to prepare the preliminary plans for a walkway to be installed on the west side of Silver Lake Road from the entrance of the Salvation Army Camp (So. of Cty Rd. F) to 37th Avenue N.E. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Comstock will provide a cost analysis for comparison of costs of concrete or a blacktop installation so that the Council will have this information for a public hearing if that portion of the walkway from 37th to Silver Lane is to be assessed to the owners. It was decided to postpone consideration of a walkway for the east side of Silver Lake Road until there are more firm plans for the development of the property on that side of the roadway. Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the City Engineer to expeditiously prepare a corlp2ehensive plan based on current criteria for presentation to the Metro Sewer Board. Motion carried unanimously. • Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Haik to grant the Metro Transit Commission permission to extend Bus Rte 11 using St. Anthony Blvd. and Hwy 8 to reach County Road C. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to invite Ms. Barb Davidson and her attorney, only, to meet with the Council at 9 P.M. during the special meeting April 29th thereby providing Ms. Davidson a hearing on her dis- missal from City employment. Motion carried unanimously. During the discussion of whether the City desires to continue to be represented by the League of Minnesota Municipalities in the joint negotiations with the I.U.O.F. of Local 49, the Mayor expressed the opinion that, in view of present economic conditions, the line be held on salaries granted for 1976. The Manager said that, since the .maintenance union had been operating under a two year contract their demands would probably bring them up to the standards of the salaries paid to the other municipal employees. Motion by Cbunc.ilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to adopt Resolution 75-025 .
