He reported the highway Department would accept a 39 ft. face to face <br /> road but preferred a 40 ft. wide stree-L since the extra foot would not increase <br /> traffic and would alloy; possible construction of a bikeway on one side. The <br /> Engineer also stated that a 40 ft. roadway would not substantially change the <br /> grade of the existing driveways along 29th. <br /> The revised figures of approximately $3259000 were a:.so pvovided by Mr. Comstock <br /> who agreed to update the Supplam�ntary Report to stow that increase in figures <br /> as well as to make a comparison of costs to the residents for the installation <br /> of an MSA funded roadway; a 7 ton road or what cost would be involved in just <br /> patching the holes in the street and resurfacing. These figures would be <br /> provided for consideration at the May 27th Council meeting where the Council <br /> anticipates making some decision on the improvement. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sauer to direct the Manager <br /> and Engineer to prepare the necessary background information for a. 40 ft. wide <br /> face to face, 9 ton roadway for the improvement of 29th Avenue and to direct <br /> the Manager to inform the residents on that street that the Council anticipates <br /> taking action on the upgrading project at its May 27th meeting. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • The plans from Ramsey County for the upgrading of Silver Lake Road and the <br /> city's installation of walkways were discussed by Mr. Dulgar who reported that <br /> the Ramsey County Highway Department wanted to know, whether the City intended <br /> constructing pathways on the East as well as the West side of the road. The <br /> Council indicated that they only intended to build walkways on the West side <br /> at this time. <br /> The Engineer indicated he had no further communication from the Lamppa Construc- <br /> tion Company regarding how they planned to finish work on Water Improvement <br /> Project 1974-1 but understood some work had been done within the last few days. <br /> Councilman Stauffer indicated that the Suburban Rate Authority is intervening <br /> in the NSP rate case. <br /> The Manager gave an up--to-date report on negotiations with the School Board <br /> regarding the use of Parkview School for a city hall. <br /> The Mayor reported on the nominees for election to the Board of the Association <br /> of Minnesota Municipalities at the meeting May 22. <br /> A discussion of how the recreation center in the St. Ancnony SIS piling Center, <br /> the Time Machine, is being run preceded the following motion: <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Iiaik to grant all. licenses <br /> listed in the May 13th agenda. <br /> • Motion carried unanimously, <br />
