-4- <br /> Before voting on the above, the following amendment was proposed: <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to amend the motion <br /> to delete from the contract the amounts estimated for costs of fuel, electricity, <br /> pest control and sewer and water. <br /> Voting on the amendment: <br /> Aye: Sauer, Miedtke, Stauffer <br /> Nay: Haik <br /> Motion to amend carried. <br /> Voting on the amended motion: <br /> Aye: Stauffer, Sauer, Miedtke <br /> Nay: Haik <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to direct the <br /> Manager to request the architect to prepare the plans for Council review with <br /> the plans to include a phased construction and an itemized budget and subject <br /> to the acceptance of the lease negotiated by the Manager with School District <br /> #282. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Sauer, Stauffer, Miedtke <br /> Nay: Haik <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Robert Johnson, Chairman of the Community Advisory Committee requested <br /> that the group of residents who were proposing a multi-purpose community <br /> building be erected to provide facilities for indoor tennis and hockey be <br /> allowed to present their proposal to a joint meeting of the Council and School <br /> Board of District #282. He gave particulars of the proposal as they had been <br /> presented by the group requesting the building in meetings with the Community <br /> Services Advisory Committee. The Manager then related several conversations <br /> he had with school officials indicating disapproval of the use of the school <br /> owned property for the building and the leasing of time for school events in <br /> the building. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sauer to direct the City <br /> Manager to set up a date for a joint School Board/Council meeting to consider <br /> the request for the proposed community multi-purpose building. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Mayor suggested that the Community Services Committee should be represented <br /> at the meeting. <br /> • Mr. Johnson then told the Council that a committee headed by Glen Gabrielson <br /> were studying a code of rules for operating the teen center being considered for <br /> part of Park View School if the building is leased to the City. <br />
