The Manager' s June 8 memorandum concerning an
increase of the City' s levy limitation base as per the authority
to do so granted by the legislature to the City in 1979 , was then
considered. Councilman Ranallo felt the City had heard from the
residents who opposed a levy base increase and said he would go
along with that opposition until the cost of City services warrants
an increase . Mayor Haik said she would favor taking the increase ,
but wanted a decision delayed until Councilman Sauer was present
and staff provides potential property tax impact information.
Mr. Fornell was requested to indicate to Ramsey County officials
the Council ' s support for the proposed right of way and geometric
designs for County Road D as well as the County ' s application for
federal aid for the upgrading of that road as detailed in his memo-
randum of June 6 .
