In order for a project to be considered for the HMGP, an eligible applicant' must complete <br /> and submit a full application to the above address. NOTE.- PROJECTS CANNOT BE RETROACTIVELY <br /> FUNDED THROUGH THE HMGP, HENCE, PROJECTS ALREADY IN PROGRESS OR COMPLETED WILL <br /> NOT BE CONSIDERED. <br /> The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). The HMGP is a federal program administered in <br /> the State of Minnesota by the Minnesota Division of Emergency Management. The program's <br /> objective is to reduce repetitive losses from natural disasters. This is accomplished by funding <br /> cost-effective projects intended to eliminate/reduce future disaster expenditures for the <br /> repair/replacement of public and private property, and for the relief of personal loss, hardship, <br /> ood <br /> suffering. <br /> w To Apply for the HMGP. Eligible applicants must apply for the HMGP through the Division <br /> of Emergency Management (DEM). An application must be completed by the app!icant and <br /> submitted to the address listed above. The application will then be reviewed and evaluated by <br /> DEM. <br /> If DEM determines that a project is a possible candidate for funding through the HMGP, a formal <br /> project application (based on the applicant's application) must be prepared by DEM and <br /> submitted to FEMA. The project is then reviewed by FEMA, and a final decision regarding <br /> project approval is made.
