City of St. Anthony <br /> Police Union Agreement <br /> Page 5 <br /> be entitled to receive 1/3 of the amount of the sick leave pay they would otherwise <br /> be entitled to during an absence from their employment. Employees receiving such <br /> Worker's Compensation will be considered working for the purpose of accumulating <br /> additional sick leave benefits normally accrued by an Employee until the Employee's <br /> accrued sick leave is completely depleted. <br /> A permanent employee who meets the other requirements of this Article, who is <br /> receiving Worker's Compensation payments, may be granted sick leave pay for the <br /> amount of difference between the Worker's Compensation payments and his salary. <br /> Sick leave with pay shall be accrued by all permanent probationary employees at the <br /> rate of eight (8) hours for each calendar month of full time employment or major <br /> fraction thereof. Sick leave may not be used during the first six (6) months of a <br /> probationary period. Sick leave shall be accumulative to a maximum of nine hundred <br /> sixty (960) hours. <br /> ARTICLE X SICK LEAVE BANK <br /> • After any member of the department accrues sick leave to the maximum allowed, all <br /> sick leave over the maximum will be tabulated and credited to a sick leave bank list <br /> which will be kept on file by the EMPLOYER. <br /> A committee consisting of the City Manager and two (2) members of the department <br /> shall be created and before any member of the department can use any of the sick <br /> leave from the bank, he must have the approval of the Committee. In no <br /> circumstances shall anyone be allowed to use from the bank until their accrued sick <br /> leave has been used. The Committee shall have the authority to approve or deny use <br /> of the banked sick leave and to specify how many days may be used by the <br /> requesting officer. <br /> The sick leave bank shall be discontinued if the City institutes a long term disability <br /> program for the members of the department. The City will continue to research the <br /> feasibility of long term disability programs. <br /> ARTICLE XI ATTENDANCE BONUS <br /> If, during any one (1) calendar year (1/1 - 12/31 ) of a given year, an employee does <br /> not use any sick leave, other than sick leave taken due to hospitalization on an "in- <br /> patient" basis under the care of a physician and any "at-home" recovery following the <br /> hospitalization, then that employee shall be entitled to an additional eight (8) hours of <br />
