• CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> RESOLUTION 99-025 <br /> RESOLUTION RELATING TO FLOOD MITIGATION <br /> IN THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY, AUTHORIZING <br /> WSB & ASSOCIATES, INC. TO PREPARE PRELIMINARY PLANS <br /> WHEREAS, over a period of many years, the City of St Anthony has experienced <br /> numerous flooding problems within certain areas in the City at times of <br /> heavy rainfalls in short periods of time, and as a result of such rainfall <br /> events many structures within the City have experienced flood damage; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, within recent years the City has obtained certain financial assistance and <br /> has engaged in appropriation of City funds in its efforts to mitigate the <br /> flood damages; and <br /> WHEREAS, steps have been taken in certain portions of the City to complete projects <br /> which are designed to reduce the extent to which such flooding problems <br /> • occur; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to take additional steps, to the extent it is able to do so <br /> within the limits of its financial resources, to continue its efforts to <br /> mitigate and reduce the flooding problems experienced within the City; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council in its efforts to proceed with its flood mitigation <br /> projects and programs has directed the engineering firm of WSB & <br /> Associates, Inc. to prepare a study of the various options available to the <br /> City for dealing with storm water and for reducing flood damage within <br /> the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, after a review of the feasibility study by residents and by the City <br /> Council, WSB & Associates, Inc. has developed certain alternatives to <br /> be considered by the City Council as possible projects to mitigate flood <br /> damages within the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a part of such study, WSB & Associates, Inc. has prepared estimates <br /> of the construction costs, revenues lost to the City, and numbers of <br /> displaced businesses and residents associated with each of the <br /> alternatives, and a copy of such estimates is attached to this Resolution; <br /> • and <br />
