ORDINANCE NO. - 1999 <br /> A RESOLUTION FOR DISSOLUTION OF THE"HAZARDOUS MATERIALS <br /> RESPONSE VEHICLE" JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br /> CITIES OF FRIDLEY, COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, ST. ANTHONY,COON RAPIDS, <br /> AND THE SPRING LAKE PARK,BLAINE,MOUNDS VIEW FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT. <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Fridley entered a Joint Powers Agreement effective January 27, 1987 with <br /> the governing bodies of Coon Rapids, St. Anthony, Columbia Heights and the Spring Lake Park, <br /> Blaine, Mounds View Fire Department, for the equipping and operation of a hazardous materials <br /> emergency response vehicle;and <br /> WHEREAS,the primary response vehicle under the Agreement is no longer needed for the <br /> handling of hazardous materials incidents,and further, the vehicle is too old to provide reliable <br /> service; and <br /> WHEREAS, the parties to the Agreement now have other available services for response to <br /> • hazardous materials incidents within their fire departments' respective service jurisdictions; and <br /> WHEREAS, notice of intended termination of the Agreement has been provided between the <br /> parties by letter dated January 4, 1999,and none of the parties object to such termination; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,that the City of Fridley terminates its participation in <br /> the Joint Powers Agreement dated January 27, 1987 with the communities of Coon Rapids, <br /> Columbia Heights, St. Anthony, Spring Lake Park, Blaine, and Mounds View for the operation of <br /> a hazardous materials emergency response vehicle. <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 12TH <br /> DAY OF APRIL 1999. <br /> By <br /> NANCY J.
