• CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> RESOLUTION 99-047 <br /> A RESOLUTION FOR EXEMPTION FROM UNIFORM <br /> MUNICIPAL CONTRACTING LAW <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony recognizes the importance of Year 2000 remediation, <br /> planning, and preventive actions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony has identified the item listed on the attached inventory <br /> list as having, or as likely to have, problems functioning or functioning properly <br /> now, in the Year 2000, or beyond due to what is commonly referred to as a <br /> Year 2000 problem; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony has determined that the actual or potential failure of the <br /> item as listed on the attached inventory is related to the public infrastructure or <br /> to the delivery of municipal services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony has identified planning, remediation, and preventative <br /> • actions for addressing the Year 2000 problems as listed on the attached <br /> inventory list; and <br /> WHEREAS, the costs of said actions would normally be subject to the uniform Municipal <br /> Contracting Law, Minn. Stat. §471.345; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony has determined that there is an urgency to implementing <br /> these actions as identified in this resolution in order to prevent an impact on the <br /> infrastructure or delivery of municipal services; and <br /> WHEREAS, such urgency is heightened by the potential failure or malfunction of systems <br /> that are critical to the provision of municipal services due to Year 2000 <br /> problems with computers and electronically controlled devices; and <br /> WHEREAS, any delay in the implementation of these actions would pose a threat to the <br /> public infrastructure and delivery of municipal services. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony <br /> hereby determines that the planning, remediation, and preventative efforts identified in this <br /> resolution shall be exempt from the Uniform Municipal Contracting law, Minn. Stat. <br /> §471.345, pursuant to 1999 Minn. Laws Ch. 250, Art. 2, Section 6; and <br /> • <br />
