VILLAGE OF ST. ANTHONY PLANNING BOARD MEETING April 21 , 1970 1. The regular meeting was called to order by acting chairman Kronk at 7:30 P.M. 2. The following were present at roll call : Parrill, Bratland, Kronk, Carlson, Ondrey. Absent: Englund, Mesenbring 3. The minutes of March 17, 1970 were approved as submitted. 4. Ordinance Variation a. :-The request to build on a 50 ft. lot at 3226 Roosevelt Street N.E. was discussed. Motion by Ondrey, seconded by Parrill, to recommend Council approve a 25 ft. variance in width and a 1500 sq. ft. area variance. Motion carried. b Tlie change in design of the exterior of the Sveden House was discussed along with the request for a variance in signs. Five signs with a total • square footage of 426 square feet were removed from the building. The request is for approval to place 2 new 10' x 10' signs and replace 2- 15 x 4 original signs. This is a total of 320 square feet. The retail floor area measures 90 x 100,or 9,000 square feet. The allowable sign area is 170 square feet which will require a variance of 150 square feet. Motion by Ondrey, seconded by Parrill, to recommend Council approval for the change in the building and a variance to allow 4 signs plus 150 square feet in sign area. Voting on the motion: Aye: Parrill, Kronk, Ondrey Nay: Carlson, Bratland Motion carried. c. Motion by Ondrey, seconded by Bratland, that the Planning Board would not look with favor for a used car lot in the Village of St. Anthony. Motion carried. d. Motion by Bratland, seconded by Parrill, to recommend to the Council that approval be given Playworld to add lettering to their present sign on the east side of the building to read "Open Sundays 12 :00 to 5 P.M." The size of letters to be no larger than the small ones on the bottom line. Motion carried.
