VILLAGE OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br /> April 21 , 1970 <br /> 1. The regular meeting was called to order by acting chairman Kronk at 7:30 P.M. <br /> 2. The following were present at roll call : Parrill, Bratland, Kronk, Carlson, <br /> Ondrey. <br /> Absent: Englund, Mesenbring <br /> 3. The minutes of March 17, 1970 were approved as submitted. <br /> 4. Ordinance Variation <br /> a. :-The request to build on a 50 ft. lot at 3226 Roosevelt Street N.E. was <br /> discussed. Motion by Ondrey, seconded by Parrill, to recommend Council <br /> approve a 25 ft. variance in width and a 1500 sq. ft. area variance. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> b Tlie change in design of the exterior of the Sveden House was discussed <br /> along with the request for a variance in signs. Five signs with a total <br /> • square footage of 426 square feet were removed from the building. The <br /> request is for approval to place 2 new 10' x 10' signs and replace 2- <br /> 15 x 4 original signs. This is a total of 320 square feet. The retail <br /> floor area measures 90 x 100,or 9,000 square feet. The allowable sign <br /> area is 170 square feet which will require a variance of 150 square feet. <br /> Motion by Ondrey, seconded by Parrill, to recommend Council approval for <br /> the change in the building and a variance to allow 4 signs plus 150 square <br /> feet in sign area. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Parrill, Kronk, Ondrey <br /> Nay: Carlson, Bratland <br /> Motion carried. <br /> c. Motion by Ondrey, seconded by Bratland, that the Planning Board would not <br /> look with favor for a used car lot in the Village of St. Anthony. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> d. Motion by Bratland, seconded by Parrill, to recommend to the Council that <br /> approval be given Playworld to add lettering to their present sign on the <br /> east side of the building to read "Open Sundays 12 :00 to 5 P.M." The size <br /> of letters to be no larger than the small ones on the bottom line. <br /> Motion carried. <br />
