r <br /> VILLAGE OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br /> i <br /> November 17, 1970 <br /> 1. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 7:30 o'clock P.M. <br /> 2. The following were present at roll call : Herman, Kronk, Ondrey, Bratlan'ds <br /> Parrill . <br /> Absent: Carlson <br /> 3. The minutes of the October 20,1970 meeting were approved as presented. <br /> 4. Public Hearings-Mone <br /> 5. Ordinance Variations <br /> Motion by Oratland, seconded by Herman, to recommend to the Council that the <br /> sign request by Bauer Welding & Metal Fabricators, Inc. to have a second sign <br /> on the south wall of their building be denied. The basis for the denial being <br /> in section 1015.03 of the sign ordinance subdivision 5 which reads one sign <br /> per frontage. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> • 6. Zoning Variations-None <br /> 7. Old Business-None <br /> 8. Building Permits <br /> a. Steve Coddon appeared and presented a proposal for the Kenzie corner at <br /> Lowry Avenue N.E. He wants a gas station, food store and car wash to be <br /> built on this property. The property to the north and east of the subject <br /> property was discussed at length as to the type of zoning this area should <br /> be. After discussion a motion by Herman, seconded by Kronk, to recommend <br /> to the Council that the request be denied. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> It was requested that the minutes show the reasons for the denial. <br /> Motion by Herman, seconded by Parrill, to amend the motion to include;. <br /> why the request was denied. The reasons are as follows : <br /> 1. Insufficient time to properly study the proposal <br /> 2. The traffic problem which may result from the car wash <br /> Voting on the motion as amended: <br /> Aye: Herman, Parrill, Kronk, Ondrey <br /> May: Bratland <br /> Motion as amended carried. <br />
