Guy Coursolle with Midwest Federal appeared before the Planning Roard with a <br /> request for tlidwest Federal to build a free standing building on the northeast <br /> corner of Silver Lake Road (Apache property), this was submitted for informational <br /> purposes at this point, no action was requested at this time. <br /> "'Me./Howard )ahlgren re-appeared before the Planning Roard with a proposal for a <br /> restaurant for the south half of the Minnesota Federal property at 39th & Silver <br /> Lake Road M.E. <br /> fir. Ed Renson from Oridgeman's appeared before the Council and gave a brief des- <br /> cription of the building they propose for the site. <br /> Colonial all brick office type building, with a family trade food business, no <br /> drive-in foods, instore seating 120 seats, 80% booths, majority business on <br /> Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Traffic is heaviest 11 :45 A.M. to 1 :45 P.M. <br /> weekdays and 5:L<5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. weekdays, 0:00 - 10:00 P.M. the ice cream <br /> business is heavy. <br /> Grace McGinn, a resident expressed her feeling that this was not a "quiet" use of <br /> the property as the residents of that area had requested. <br /> Mrs. Ray Ilail: again mentioned that we should cure the traffic problems in that <br /> area before vie allow in more traffic generating establishments, than to wait for <br /> the problem to become so serious that we have to do something, also that when the <br /> representative from Bridgeman's explains that the peak hours at that restaurant <br /> would be later in the evening, that could interfere with the residents who wish <br /> • to enjoy their backyards at that time. <br /> Mr. Dahlgren was informed that the request would have to be sent to the Council <br /> since it is not applicable under Resolution 1972-006. Ile said he understood, <br /> and that he wished the Planning Board to make that request. <br /> Motion by ::ronk, seconded by Ondrey to recommend to the Council this type of <br /> eating establishment on a Conditional Ilse Permit on this property, for this <br /> particular parcel or lot . <br /> Motion carried (Unanimously) <br /> Motion by Kronk, seconded by Oratland to approve replatting of Lot 1, Rlock <br /> 1, Hedlund & 11akirial; Addition conditioned upon the removal of the old house and <br /> garage on the property. Also the South 35 feet of Lot Ou, R1 18, Soo Marie Park Add, <br /> Motion carried (Unanimously) <br /> Motion by Letourneau, seconded by Kronk to table action on sign ordinance variances <br /> for church directional signs. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Kronk, seconded by Ondrey to table action on pathways, and ask the <br /> Council for more information regarding this proposal . <br /> • Motion carried. <br /> 1 <br />
