Mr. Stuart was accompanied by Mr. L.O. Wasmoen, 6300 Olson Hwy.
and Mr. John L. Doche, 5329 Humboldt Avenue, who presented the drawings of the
proposed structure and discussed the operation of the plant and the possible
traffic patterns through the drive-in plant where kodacolor film could be pro-
cessed for customers within a days time.
Following a discussion of the possible congestion of traffic at that corner
such an operation might cause and expression of the concern of the Bca rd as to
the inadequacy of the Farking provisions of the proposal, the following motion
was made
Motion by Mr. Ondrey seconded by Mrs. McGinn that the Board not recommend that
the Council approve the rezoning of the N 1/2 and S. 1/2 of that part of Lot 1,
Block 1, lying E. of W. 170 thereof Gardena Acres for a Pako plant.
Voting on the motion:
Aye: McGinn, Letourneau, Parrill, Johnson, Ondrey
Nay: Kronk & Carlson
Motion carried.
After Mr. Ondrey had expressed the sympathy of the Board to Mr. Stuart at his
inability to dispose of the property he was advised that he could still present
the proposal to the Council for their ruling on the rezoning.
Mr. Carlson left the meeting at 9:30.
Bob Springer, 2724 Hayes St. N.E. , operator of the St. Anthony 76 station
requested permission to park a house trailer to be used for storage behind his
station on a temporary basis. He said he had talked to the Fire Department and
they found nothing wrong with the proposal as long as there was access to the
property for fire fighting equipment. He pointed out that with such a storage
area he would be able to clean up the area and told the Board he planned to
erect an 8 ft. cedar fence to screen the view from Kenzie Terrace.
Motion b Mr. Kronk seconded b Mr. Johnson to recommend that the Com.nci ow
y , y t 1 all
Mr. Springer to temporarily place the trailer behind his station as long as the
area was cleaned up and an 8 ft. cedar fence erected.
Motion carried.
