CITY OF ST. ANTHONY
PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
May 21, 1974
The meeting was called to order at 7:37 P.M. by Chairman McGinn.
The following were present at roll call: McGinn, Kronk, Johnson, Marks.
Minutes of the April 16, 1974 meeting were amended to read:
Pg. 2. McGinn voted "aye" on the motion to recommend to the Council
approval of the conditional use permit to Herfurth only if there is a
final committment from Rembrandt.
Motion by Mr. Marks, seconded by Mr. Johnson to approve the minutes of
April 16, 1974 as amended.
Motion carried.
The scheduled public hearing was delayed to see if Mr. Sroga and other interested
parties would be in attendance to present their views.
The Board discussed the Walbon request for a public hearing to rezone their
property at 3242 Old Highway 8 but delayed formal action because the Walbons
w\a not in attenance.
• The Board discussed the request of Mr. Sularz, 2524 St. Anthony Boulevard, who
requested a public hearing on a variance to allow construction of a porch
addition on the southwest corner of his house. A variance would be required as
the proposed porch would leave a total of ten feet of side yard and tke zoning
ordinance specifies a minimum of fifteen feet of side yards. The Board felt
Mr. Sularz was entitled to a hearing and the following motion was made:
Motion by Mr. Kronk, seconded by Mr. Marks to recommend to the Council that a
public hearing be held on Mr. Sularz's request for a variance.
Motion carried.
i
''The Walbons arrived at the meeting and a discussion of their rezoning request
pursued. Board members voiced the opinion that the character of the area was
residential and that rezoning the parcel would result in a Lack of control over
the exact type of usage that could locate there. The following motion was made:
Motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Marks to recommend to the Council that
the Walbon property at 3242 Highway 8 not be rezoned to Commercial.
Motion carried.
/The public hearing on the Sroga request for a variance was opened at 8:07 P.M.
upon the arrival of Mr. Sroga.
• Mr. Sroga stated his intention of constructing a house on one lot. No other
resident spoke on the matter.
The public hearing was closed at 8:10 P.M. and the following motion was made
after brief discussion.
;r-
