How to Request a Conditional Use Permit <br /> A Conditional Use Permit application is required when the proposed use of a parcel of land requires <br /> City Council approval. <br /> The first step in applying for a'Conditional Use Permit is to contact the Department of Planning <br /> and Development. Applicants are also encouraged to contact the Protective Inspections Division <br /> and Fire Department to see if additional permits and/or licenses will be required. If you choose to <br /> pursue a .Conditional Use Permit request, a pre-application meeting should be arranged with the <br /> Planning Staff. <br /> Pre-Application Meetins: Applicants are strongly encouraged to-schedule a meeting with <br /> 20 the Planning Staff prior to the application submittal. <br /> The purpose of this meeting is to be advised how the City's policies and plans might affect your <br /> project and to assign a Staff representative to help you coordinate your application submittal. The <br /> Planning'Staff will provide you with a preliminary review for your project The applicant is <br /> responsible for understanding City Ordinances Sections 152.244 "Zoning Ordinance <br /> (Conditional Use Permit)"; Chapter 151 "Subdivision Regulations"; and Chapter 150 "Sign <br /> Ordinance." Based on this meeting, a decision can be made whether to submit a formal <br /> Conditional Use Permit application. The Planning Staff will also try to advise of other potential <br /> governmental jurisdiction involvement. The following items should-be brought to the Pre- <br /> Application Meeting: <br /> 1. The address or location of the property. <br /> 2. Any preliminary plans developed for the property. <br /> APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: <br /> Application Fee: Check payable to the "City of Brooklyn Park." The non-refundable <br /> Rr application and an area identification sign fee for a Conditional Use Permit is$350. There is <br /> also an escrow deposit of$500.which is used to pay for City Staff time spent reviewing the <br /> application. Please note'that additional escrows and sureties will be required for on <br /> (and ofl) site improvements after approval and prior to release of the Conditional Use <br /> Permit <br /> Signed Application: Include authorization from the property owner on the application form <br /> or by attached letter if the application is signed by an agent. <br /> MSite Plan: Four (4) sets of full size prints and ten (10) sets of 11" x 1T' size prints, ALL <br /> FOLDED to 82" x 11". Additional drawing submittals may be required for the Planning <br /> Commission and/or City Council meetings.
