PRESS RELEASE <br /> 01-IL NAMED AS ST. ANTHONY POLICE CHIEF <br /> The City of St. Anthony is pleased to announce that Capt. John A. Ohl has accepted the <br /> position of Police Chief. Capt. Ohl has worked as a police officer with the City of St. <br /> Anthony for 21 years, starting as a patrol officer in 1984. Through his years with the <br /> Department, he has worked in many capacities, including Crime Prevention Officer, <br /> Firearms Instructor, Use of Force Instructor, Criminal Investigator and Lieutenant in <br /> charge of Criminal Investigations. In his current position as Captain, he has worked as <br /> second-in-command for the Department, which at times has made him responsible for the <br /> City's overall law enforcement operations. <br /> In addition to his professional accomplishments, Capt. Ohl has a Bachelor's Degree from <br /> the University of Minnesota and certification for Police Management from the Minnesota <br /> Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). He has attended the National Emergency <br /> Response and Rescue Training Center's Course on Terrorism and Risk Assessment, the <br /> U.S. Department of Homeland Securities Continuity of Operations, the University of <br /> Southern Illinois Police Institute's Management of Small Law Enforcement Agencies, as <br /> well as many other management and operations-related coursework. <br /> Mike Morrison, St. Anthony City Manager, stated that based on Capt. Ohl's record with <br /> the Department, his education, training, and extensive experience, the decision naming <br /> him as the City's next police chief was an easy one for Morrison to make. Capt. Ohl <br /> replaces retiring police chief, Richard Engstrom. <br />
