COMMUNICATION WITH CITY COUNCIL <br /> mission member to the September 27, 2005 City Council <br /> g 6.1 Designate a Planning Com <br /> 9 Meeting. <br /> 10Commission <br /> 11 Chair Stromgren stated that he and Ms. Moore-Sykes would discuss the Planning <br /> 12 representative for the September 27, 2005 City Council meeting at a later time. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 VII. PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 7.1 Conditional Use Permit—49er's CateringServices 2829 AnthonyLane Sou <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Chair Stromgren opened the public hearing at 7:10 p.m. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated that Eric Reiners, an architect with Welman, Sperides Architects, <br /> 21 representatives for Local 49, is present as a representative for the Local 49er's to answer any <br /> 22 questions the Planning Commission might have regarding their application for a Conditional Use <br /> 23 Permit. She provided the Commission with a brief overview noting that the Local 49er's had <br /> 24 recently completed construction of a catering kitchen and related facilities,which they are <br /> 25 interested in opening to the public for weddings and special events. She stated that the <br /> 26 application had been reviewed previously by City Council but because the City's zoning <br /> 27 ordinance did not allow this use in the Industrial Zoning District the Local 49er's petitioned the <br /> 28 Council requesting that the Ordinance at Section 1640.03 be amended to allow catering as a <br /> 29 permitted conditional use in the Industrial Zoning District. She stated that the City Council <br /> 30 approved the amendment at their August 23,2005 meeting and the applicant is now requesting a <br /> 31 public hearing to consider graining a Conditional Use Permit for their catering services. She <br /> 32 stated that they reviewed potential traffic impacts and it was determined that allowing the <br /> 33 services would not have additional impact to the area. She stated that Staff has outlined five <br /> 34 conditions and reviewed with the Commission. <br /> 35 <br /> hlman Freese, stated that Mr. Refiners was not able to attend this evening <br /> 36 Mike Freeburg, Po <br /> 37 adding that he was asked, on short notice, to represent the International Union of Operating <br /> 38 Engineers,Local 49, in his place. He explained that he is not actually involved in this project but <br /> 39 assured the Commission that he would do his best to answer their questions. He indicated that <br /> 40 the parking issues have been resolved and assured the Commission that they would be in <br /> 41 compliance with all outlined requirements and conditions. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Chair Stromgren closed the public hearing at 7:12 p.m. <br /> 44 <br />
