Planning Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> January17>2006 <br /> Page 6 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Ms. Moore-Sykes confirmed stating that this is another idea for life-cycle housing for aging <br /> 3 parents or children in college. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Commissioner Galyon suggested that they keep in mind the number of vehicles that would be <br /> 6 allowed to park on premise as they work through this item. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Commissioner Jenson asked if this is associated to R2 housing such as twin homes and duplexes. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated that this type of unit would be considered a multiple unit dwelling with <br /> 11 two separate units or connected. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 XII. ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated that the Comprehensive Land Use Plans have to be completed by 2008. <br /> 16 She stated that Staff would be working to gather the support documentation and provide the <br /> 17 information to the Planning Commission for their review. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Chair Stromgren asked if this process would also involve working with a consultant. Ms. <br /> 20 Moore-Sykes stated that she would have to do some research noting that the last time the City <br /> 21 went through this process the Chair Person from the Planning Commission actually chaired this <br /> 22 committee. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Commissioner Jenson stated that he has been a part of the Hennepin County Highway Task <br /> 25 Force noting that an Open House is scheduled on Monday, January 23, 2006, to discuss the <br /> 26 recommended changes for Silver Lake Road. He stated that the Open House would be held at <br /> 27 the St. Anthony Community Center, Great Hall from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for residents who <br /> 28 would like to review and discuss the proposal. He explained that there are two basic options for <br /> 29 the residents to review adding that the purpose of the Open House is to gain input from the City <br /> 30 Residents. He stated that Silver Lake Road would basically remain a two-lane street with turn <br /> 31 lanes noting that attendance would include the City Engineer, Hennepin County representatives <br /> 32 and Hennepin County Highway Task Force members. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Vice Chair Hanson referenced the business condo proposal and asked if the City is still in <br /> 35 litigation with Tires Plus. Ms. Moore-Sykes stated that it was her understanding that there was a <br /> 36 ruling and that Tires Plus has filed an appeal. She stated that she would do some checking and <br /> 37 provide the Commission with an update. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Chair Stromgren stated that the City Council conveyed their appreciation for the Planning <br /> 40 Commission's efforts at the last annual goal setting retreat. He stated that the Council also <br /> 41 discussed current projects in addition to upcoming projects and reviewed with the Commission. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated that April 19, 2006 is the date currently being considered for a joint <br /> 44 meeting between the City Council and the Planning Commission. She stated that the meeting <br /> 45 would be scheduled for 6:00 p.m. adding that she would provide the Commission with an <br /> 46 updated schedule and agenda once the date and time has been confirmed. <br />
