(3) Buildings with two (2) or more businesses/tenants shall be allowed an <br /> additional twelve (12) square feet for two (2) or more copy surfaces, for a <br /> total of eighty (80) square feet. <br /> Subd. 4. Landscaping. Ground signs must be landscaped. Landscaping may consist of <br /> shrubs, plants, rocks, or other decorative materials located around the pedestal. <br /> Subd. 5. Design and Location: <br /> (1) Signs must maximize the use of natural materials in construction and <br /> should conform to the material design of the principal structure. <br /> (2) Signs must be located at least fifteen (15) feet from the curb line of any <br /> public street and cannot be placed within any street right-of-way or <br /> government easement. <br /> (3) The pedestal width of a ground sign must be at least equal to the sign <br /> width. <br /> (4) The principal structure of a parcel of land will be allowed one ground sign, <br /> regardless of the number of tenants in the structure. <br /> 1400.11 Wall Signs. The sign surface area of a wall sign may not exceed fifteen (15)percent <br /> of the area of the wall to which it is applied. <br /> 1400.12 District Schedules. Signs shall be permitted as set forth in the following provisions: <br /> Subd. 1. Residential. The following signs are permitted in a residential district: <br /> (1) R-1, R-1 A, and R-2. <br /> a. One (1) identification sign per dwelling unit per right-of-way <br /> frontage stating the street address, and/or the name of the resident. <br /> One (1) address sign may also be located on the curb in front of <br /> each dwelling unit or on a freestanding mailbox. <br /> b. Only one (1) non-commercial sign with a maximum sign area of <br /> six(6) square feet per surface with a total area of twelve (12) <br /> square feet all sign area surfaces will be permitted per lot. Signs <br /> may not have any surface area or structural member closer than <br /> ten (10)feet to a side lot line or sited in a public right-of-way or <br /> public easement. <br /> C. The following types of signs are not permitted in residential zoning <br /> districts: <br /> i. Awning signs <br /> ii. Balloon signs <br /> iii.
