Minnesota State Statutes <br /> require that any land use or zoning-related applications shall be approved or denied by the <br /> governing body within 60 days of receipt of the completed application by the political <br /> subdivision. To comply with the MN Statutes, the City needs to provide you with a decision on <br /> your variance request by May 25, 2010. <br /> As part of the 60-day process, the City has scheduled a public hearing for your variance <br /> request on April 20,2010 at 7:00 PM before the Planning Commission. The City's Planning <br /> Commission is a seven(7) member board appointed by the City Council. One of their duties is <br /> to hold public hearings for all land use and zoning requests, giving residents the opportunity to <br /> comment on the request before the Planning Commission. At the conclusion of the public <br /> hearing, the Planning Commission will establish findings of fact based on information provided <br /> by the property owners,City staff and the public and make a recommendation to the City <br /> Council. The City Council will review this request at their regularly scheduled meeting on <br /> April 27th at 7:00 P.M.,a week after the Planning Commission meeting. <br /> You or a representative are be required to attend both the Planning Commission <br /> meeting and City Council meeting.
