ANTHONY 1 <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 2 <br />APRIL 26, 2016 3 <br /> 4 <br />CALL TO ORDER. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 7 <br /> 8 <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Present: Mayor Faust Councilmembers Brever, Gray, Jenson and Stille 13 <br />Absent: None 14 <br />Also Present: City Manager Mark Casey, Parks Commission Chair Scott Bentz, Firefighter Mattie 15 <br />Jaros, Finance Director Shelly Ruekert, Community Services and Communications 16 <br />Director Wendy Webster, and GreenCorp Member Kristin Seaman 17 <br />Guests: Ramsey County Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire, and St. Anthony Area Chamber of 18 <br />Commerce President Samara Anderson 19 <br /> 20 <br /> 21 <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING 22 <br />ITEMS. 23 <br /> 24 <br />I. APPROVAL OF THE APRIL 26, 2016, CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City 27 <br />Council Meeting Agenda of April 26, 2016. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 30 <br /> 31 <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. 32 <br /> 33 <br />A. Presentation from Ramsey County Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire 34 <br /> 35 <br />Ramsey County Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire provided an update on what’s new at Ramsey 36 <br />County. Commissioner McGuire stated it is the County Board’s desire to communicate with 37 <br />cities as often as possible. She has deep roots in St. Anthony. She represents District 2, which 38 <br />includes the Ramsey County portion of St. Anthony. Commissioner McGuire provided handouts 39 <br />for the Council “Why Ramsey County Matters.” She reviewed items the County has been 40 <br />working on. Ramsey County has recently been restructured and has been divided into four 41 <br />service areas. Health and Wellness, Information and Public Records, Safety and Justice, and 42 <br />Economic Growth and Community Investment. Commissioner McGuire is the Chair of the 43 <br />Legislative Committee, Chair of the Active Living in Ramsey County, a Member of 35W North 44 <br />Corridor Coalition, Board Liaison to the Libraries, and Transportation Advisory Board. 45 <br />Commissioner McGuire mentioned the County has many publications that are available at the 46 <br />County that may be of interest to residents. She has worked with the City Manager on some 47 <br />issues within the City of St. Anthony. She provided an update on the road projects that were 48 <br />brought up. There are six intersections in Ramsey County, and a half mile sidewalk on County 49 <br />Road D. The County and City are working together on these projects. The Mirror Lake Flood 50 <br />3
