Public Works Department <br />The Public Works Department is comprised of fourteen full -time employees, <br />twelve being maintenance and two management staff. Public Works is <br />responsible for the maintenance and repair of the cities infrastructure to include <br />city owned buildings, grounds and equipment. <br />The current Public Works Department is divided primary into 4 general areas: <br />➢ Streets Division: The Public Works Street Division provides services to <br />include the maintenance of all city streets, alleys, City owned parking lots <br />and sidewalks. This division maintains approximately 24 miles of <br />roadways. The primary maintenance procedures include: snow removal, <br />ice control, crack sealing, seal coating, and concrete curb and panel <br />replacement. In addition, street sweeping, crosswalk striping and street <br />sign maintenance are also the responsibility of the street division. <br />➢ Parks Division: The Parks Division provides maintenance to 5 city parks <br />and 3 park shelters. This division maintains all baseball, softball and <br />soccer fields that are currently scheduled through the St Anthony <br />Community Services Recreation Program. In Addition, this division <br />maintains all City Buildings, grounds and City owned storm sewer <br />retention ponds. <br />➢ Vehicle Maintenance Division: The Fleet Maintenance Division provides <br />the necessary vehicle maintenance and repair to all Public Works vehicles <br />and equipment, which include both licensed and non - licensed. In addition, <br />this division also supports Police, Fire and the Liquor Operations with their <br />maintenance needs. Our current Vehicle Maintenance Division staff is <br />trained and licensed to certify all vehicles requiring a DOT inspection on <br />an annual basis. This division also assists in the purchase and <br />specification process when replacing capital equipment for the Public <br />Works Department. <br />➢ City Buildings: Public Works provides all necessary maintenance and <br />repair to all city owned buildings and grounds. City staff is currently <br />making ongoing improvements each year to make each building operate <br />in the most efficient manner in order to reduce energy costs. <br />
