MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: July 12, 2010 <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Mike Momson, City Manager <br />Roger Larson, Finance Director <br />ITEM: 2011 CAPITAL EQUIPMENT BUDGET <br />The proposed 2011 Capital Equipment Budget totals $330,400. At the May 3, 2010, <br />work session, each department discussed their capital equipment needs with the City <br />Council. <br />Present funding for 2011 is as follows: <br />1) Liquor Operations Profit $108,200 <br />2009 Profits $ 17,200 <br />$125,400 <br />2) MSA Revolving Funds $ 90,000 <br />3) Water Filtration Interest $ 50,000 <br />4) Fund Balance/Trade & Sale of Existing Equipment 65,000 <br />$330,400 <br />At this time, the funding mechanism for the Outdoor Warning Siren (budgeted at <br />$18,500) could change due to the Fire Department applying for a Homeland Security <br />Grant that would fund 75% of the cost. <br />In addition, the Fire Department is applying for a FEMA Grant totaling $48,000 that <br />could fund some of their future capital equipment costs. Also, in process is the Grant to <br />fund the purchase of 6 squad car cameras for the Police Department that is included in the <br />5 -year Capital Equipment Plan for 2014. <br />
