City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 27, 2009 <br />Page 5 <br />1 • Municipal Liquor Store Magazine included an article about St. Anthony Village <br />2 celebrating its 60`h anniversary <br />3 ■ Kids vs. Cops will be Friday, January 30`h, 6:30 p.m. at the high school. St. Anthony <br />4 officers will be playing 5`h 6th and 7`h grade youth teams. <br />5 ■ Staff attended an energy seminar in St. Cloud on energy efficiency for city buildings. <br />6 ■ There is a possibility of including the refunding of two bonds issued in 2000 with bonds <br />7 for the 2009 Street and Utility Improvement Project and Emerald Park Improvement <br />8 Project, resulting in savings in insurance and issuance costs. <br />9 ■ New benches have been added to the Community Center <br />10 ■ The February 10, 2009 City Council meeting will include: <br />11 o Presentation on the City Code Recodification by Assistant City Manager Moore <br />12 Sykes and City Attorney Gilligan. <br />13 o Staff Reports: Liquor Manager Larson and Police Chief Ohl <br />14 o Report on City Council Goals by Richard Fursman <br />15 <br />16 Councilmember Thuesen: No report <br />17 <br />18 Councilmember Gray: No report <br />19 <br />20 Councilmember Roth: No report <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Stille reported on the following: <br />23 ■ Thank you to Councilmember Gray for inviting the Greater Metropolitan Housing <br />24 Corporation (GMHC) to the January 20, 2009 Chamber of Commerce meeting. The <br />25 GMHC gave a synopsis of their relationship with the City and what is done to encourage <br />26 improvement of the City's housing stock. <br />27 ■ His attendance at the Family Services Collaborative Meeting on January 22, 2009. <br />28 ■ Thank you to Boy Scout Pack 153 for the Pinewood Derby Race with participation by <br />29 City staff, Fire Department, Police Department, Wilshire School and the High School. <br />30 <br />31 Mayor Faust reported on the following: <br />32 ■ Thank you to Councilmember Gray for inviting the GMHC to the recent Chamber of <br />33 Commerce meeting. <br />34 a Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Branstad for their efforts stuffing envelopes for the Finance <br />35 Department. <br />36 ■ City Council Goal Setting Retreat on February 15`h and 16`h, 2009 <br />37 <br />38 Mayor Faust expressed his thanks for the community they live in. He stated it is a three- legged <br />39 stool including the City Council, staff and residents that all contribute to a great community. <br />40 <br />41 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />42 <br />43 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />44 are not on the regular agenda. <br />45 <br />46 Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />
