Total value of <br />3 $1,651,746. <br />4 o Cottages: 26 total of which 23 are sold. 6 of these sold this year. Total value of <br />5 41,553,293. <br />6 o Co -op: 42 total, 20 reserved; 78 unit rental <br />7 ■ Workman's Comp Rate is .78, the lowest it has ever been. 1.00 is considered the normal. <br />8 ■ The Fire Department will be volunteering with Muscular Dystrophy this year. <br />9 ■ Officer Huddle received the following awards for his work with the Roseville Swat <br />10 Team: MN Police Officer Association Police Officer of the Year Award Honorable <br />11 Mention; Department Medal of Honor, SOTA Swat Officer of the Year; Minnesota <br />12 Police Chiefs Medal of Honor; and Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association <br />13 Honorable Mention. <br />14 <br />15 Consensus of the Council was to direct staff to cancel the July 14, 2009 City Council meeting <br />16 and to schedule the third reading of ordinance 2009 -005 for the July 28, 2009 City Council <br />17 meeting. <br />18 <br />19 Mayor Faust noted that insurance costs were $4,000 lower this year and commended staff for the <br />20 efforts associated with the workman's comp rate. <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Stille reported on this attendance at the Family Services Collaborative Board <br />23 meeting prior to the City Council meeting. He explained that the organization currently serves at <br />24 risk kids that are generally middle school and up in age. Due to the desire of the County for the <br />25 funds to be used for early childhood there may be a change in focus. <br />26 <br />27 Councilmember Thuesen reported that recent speakers at the Vital Aging Council were Andy <br />28 Parrish of AARP, and Bob Roepke, former Mayor of Chaska. Mr. Parrish spoke about health <br />29 care reform, financial security, home emergencies, and maintaining health and long term care. <br />30 Mr. Roepke spoke about communities supporting residents as they age. <br />31 <br />32 Councilmember Gray: No report. <br />33 <br />34 Councilmember Roth: No report. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the following: <br />37 June 15, 2009 Vital Aging Council meeting. Mr. Bob Roepke spoke about a community <br />38 for a lifetime. He discussed a master plan for aging, as well as putting the human element <br />39 into comprehensive planning. There is some sentiment that St. Anthony may not have <br />40 enough community space for the senior component, and this may need to be looked into <br />41 in the future. However, the City has been amenable to requests by the seniors to use space <br />42 at city hall, audio visual equipment, etc. He note there may be areas where the Vital <br />43 Aging Council can be enhanced. <br />44 League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) Board meeting prior to the City Council meeting. It <br />45 was his last meeting as a board member; if elected on Thursday he will be an officer. He <br />46 encourages membership on LMC policy committees. <br />
