City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />August 11, 2009 <br />Page 5 <br />1 Councilmember Gray thanked staff for their work with Village Fest. He met many new people at a <br />block party on Paul Avenue; he was told that there are 40 children under five years old <br />living in close proximity in this area. He also talked with couples that have been here <br />since 1959 and someone that had been in the same house since 1954. <br />Mayor Faust recognized City Manager, Public Works Director, Kiwanis volunteers, Police and <br />Fire Chiefs, civic organizations, city council members, and staff for their efforts with Village <br />Fest. He reported on the August 3, 2009 City Council work session to discuss the budget. He <br />reported on his attendance at Night to Unite block parties and pointed out that many people are <br />moving to St. Anthony for the housing, sidewalks and the school district. <br />VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />are not on the regular agenda. <br />Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br />Mayor Faust stated the Three Rivers Park District website has announced that there will be a soft <br />opening of Silverwood Park on August 12, 2009. The grand opening and ribbon cutting will be <br />September 26, 2009. <br />X.
