Finance Director Larson indicated the Sewer and Water Fund balance is <br />approximately $200,000. <br />Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to approve the First <br />Reading of Ordinance 2009 -007; Amending Sewer Rates in Section 33 of the St. Anthony City <br />Code. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />City Manager Morrison reported on the following: <br />• Fire Chief Malenick provided a presentation to city employees on H1N1. An <br />informational brochure was received from the State and will be posted on the City <br />website. <br />• Staff has been going through on -site diversity training in conjunction with the League of <br />Minnesota Cities. <br />• Staff is working on a potential lease for a wireless provider at the water tower site. The <br />lease may be presented at an upcoming City Council meeting. <br />• Negotiations with the three city unions are ongoing. <br />• The electronic sign in front of city hall is currently out with a part on order. <br />• The City is being nominated for an award through the City Engineer's Association for the <br />Water Reuse Facility. <br />• Deadline for Planning Commission and Parks Commission applications are November <br />20, 2009. <br />Councilmember Stille requested that Council be provided with information on typical market <br />lease rates for cell phone towers when the lease is presented for approval. <br />Councilmember Roth: No report. <br />Councilmember Stille reported on his attendance at the Urban Land Institute Seminar on October <br />20, 2009. The topic was how walkability influences home values, as well as the social, <br />environmental and economic benefits. <br />Councilmember Thuesen stated his appreciation of the quality of stoplight the County installed at <br />the intersection of 33`d Avenue and Silver Lake Road. He noted this is an important intersection <br />for the community and the stoplight that was installed enhances the walkability of the <br />community and adds safety. <br />
