City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 24, 2008 <br />Page 8 <br />Councilmember Roth reported on attending the League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference <br />in Rochester. He commented on the informative meetings and the networking that was available. <br />Councilmember Stille reported on attending the Sister City Committee Meeting. There was <br />discussion on the recent visit from the sister city and solidifying the trip planned for February of <br />2009 where three high school students have been chosen to visit Salo for one week to participate <br />in Project Citizen. <br />9 Mayor Faust reported on the following: <br />10 ■ Students have been invited from each of Salo's eight sister cities to participate in Project <br />11 Citizen. This will be an outstanding opportunity for young men and women to be able to <br />12 broaden their horizons. <br />13 ■ June 10`h League of Minnesota Cities Board Meeting <br />14 • June t I"' — 13`h League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference in Rochester. He thanked <br />15 Councilmember Gray and Councilmember Roth for taking vacation time to attend and <br />16 bring valuable training back to the City. He thanked Police Chief Ohl for attending and <br />17 noted that the training will enable him to understand the issues that city councils and city <br />18 managers deal with. <br />19 <br />20 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />21 <br />22 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />23 are not on the regular agenda. <br />24 <br />25 Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />26 <br />27 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br />28 <br />29 Mayor Faust announced the following: <br />30 • July 8, 2008 City Council meeting has been cancelled <br />31 ■ Village Notes was recently distributed and includes good information about the Adopt a <br />32 Bench Program, Silverwood Park, and information on how to be weed free without using <br />33 herbicides. <br />34 <br />35 Councilmember Thuesen announced the St. Anthony Civic Orchestra will be holding four <br />36 summer pop concerts. The Chandler Ice Cream Social behind Chandler Place is scheduled for <br />37 June 26h at 7:15 p.m. <br />38 <br />39 Councilmember Stille congratulated the St. Anthony Boys Baseball Team for winning the state <br />40 championship. <br />41 <br />42 X. ADJOURNMENT. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Faust adjourned the regular City Council meeting at 8:12 p.m. <br />45 <br />46 Motion carried unanimously. <br />
