Consider Resolution 08 -082, Adopting the 2009 Annual Budget. <br />8 Mayor Faust stated the public hearing on the 2009 Property Tax Levy and Operating Budget was <br />9 held at the Truth -in- Taxation meeting on December 8, 2008. The proposed resolution approves <br />10 the 2009 Tax Levy and Budget as proposed. <br />11 <br />12 Mr. Morrison reviewed the resolution with the Council. He indicated the resolution complies <br />13 with State Law and Truth -in- Taxation requirements, setting the 2009 Operating Budget and <br />14 Property Tax Levy as presented on December 8, 2008. Mr. Morrison provided an overview of the <br />15 following information in relation to the 2009 Property Tax Levy and Operating Budget: <br />16 ■ Issues impacting the 2009 Budget <br />17 ■ Total Levy <br />18 o General Fund Levy <br />19 o Road Improvement Levy <br />20 o Lease Revenue Bonds <br />21 o HRA Levy <br />22 o Tax Abatement Levy <br />23 o PERA Levy <br />24 o Breakdown of 2009 Property Taxes <br />25 <br />26 Mr. Momson stated the total 2009 tax levy is proposed to be $4,601,937.20. The 2009 General <br />27 Fund Budget totals $5,277,400.00. <br />28 <br />29 Motion by Councilmember Roth, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to adopt Resolution 08- <br />30 082, Setting the City of St. Anthony 2009 Tax Levy and Operating Budget. <br />31 <br />32 Motion carried unanimously. <br />33 <br />34 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />35 <br />36 City Manager Momson reported on the following: <br />37 ■ Environmental Award nomination from the Pollution Control Agency for reducing salt <br />38 amount based on training put on by Mississippi Watershed Management Organization <br />39 (MWMO) staff. <br />40 ■ A request has been submitted for a grant request to Transit for Livable Communities for <br />41 sidewalks along 37`h Avenue from Highcrest to Stinson Blvd. <br />42 ■ A request has been submitted to the Federal Government for infrastructure money that <br />43 may be available in 2009. <br />44 ■ A grant request for $17,000 has been submitted to the Metropolitan Emergency Board for <br />45 800 MgH Radios for Public Works. <br />
