APPROVAL OF JANUARY 9, 2007 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />Motion by Councilmember Horst, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to approve the City <br />Council Meeting Agenda of January 9, 2007. <br />Motion carried unanimousiv. <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />A. Recognition of the St. Anthony -New Brighton School District #282 and their <br />achievement of the Five Star Award from the Minnesota Department of Education. <br />Mayor Faust introduced Mr. Thomas Keith, St. Anthony Village High School Principle. Mr. <br />Keith stated St. Anthony Village High School has long prided itself in on its academic <br />achievements. He reported St. Anthony Village High School has been featured in Newsweek as <br />one of the top five percent schools in the country. He stated Senator Dayton presented St. <br />Anthony Village High School with the Minnesota Schools of Excellence Awards. Mr. Keith <br />mentioned that as part of the Minnesota accountability program St. Anthony Village High School <br />has been a Double Five Star High School for the past three years; an award based upon math and <br />reading tests. He stated that typically about 12 to 13 high schools throughout the state earn the <br />double five star rating; only five have earned the double five star rating for the previous 2 years. <br />Mr. Keith stated he is thrilled the students of St. Anthony Village High School continue to <br />perform at such an extraordinarily high level. He indicated this is due in part to the tremendous <br />support from the community, a superb staff, and students committed to academic excellence. <br />Mr. Keith introduced Thuy -Vy Bui, Student Body President. He stated she has applied to and <br />has been accepted at four colleges. He stated she is an extraordinary and motivated leader in the <br />school. <br />
