City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 9, 2007 <br />Page 11 <br />1 Mayor Faust reported the City hosted a Wine and Grocery Forum on December 12, 2006. He <br />2 stated some 30 municipalities participated in the well- received event. <br />4 Mayor Faust reported that on December 13, 2006, the City hosted a snow and ice control best <br />5 practices event in Council Chambers with the Middle Mississippi Water Management <br />6 Organization. He stated he passed on the good wishes from the City. He indicated he thought it <br />was nice to reach out to the outgoing mayor as he worked with him on the League of Minnesota <br />Cities. He mentioned the St. Anthony and Spring Lake Park school districts work together as <br />well and he feels it is nice to reach out to some of the sister cities in the metro area and for the <br />governments to work together. <br />Mayor Faust reported Planning Commission interviews were held on December 19, 2006. <br />Mayor Faust reported that on December 27, 2006, he presented awards to several firefighters and <br />witnessed the swearing in of a volunteer firefighter. He mentioned it takes two years of training <br />to become a firefighter. <br />Mayor Faust reported he attended a Middle Mississippi Water Management Meeting on January <br />9, 2007. <br />VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />are not on the regular agenda. <br />Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />IX.
