City Council Regular Meeting Minutes April 10, 2007 Page 7 1 City Manager Momson reported the City Clean-Up Day is May 5, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 2 p.m. City Manager Morrison reported the Northeast Diagonal Project construction would begin in May and continue throughout the summer. He stated information would be put on the web. He commented this is a bicycle /walking path that ties St. Anthony to Minneapolis and Roseville. 8 City Manager Momson reported Public Works Director Hartman did a great job on the I/I 9 inspection. He stated Mr. Hartman has been in over 100 homes and did a great job representing 10 the City. 11 12 City Manager Mornson reported the Junior Achievement second graders would attend the April 13 24, 2007 Council Meeting. He stated Mayor Faust met with the second graders and talked about 14 what it is like to be a mayor. 15 16 Councilmember Stille stated he attended the League of Minnesota Cities meeting at the capital 17 on March 29, 2007. He reported he met with several senators and asked them to push the open 18 enrollment bill. 19 20 Councilmember Thuesen reported he also met at the Capital and felt it was a worthwhile 21 meeting. 22 23 Councilmember Horst reported he met with the Public Works Director Jay Hartman to discuss 24 the plaque and the monument dedicating the sculpture on May 17, 2007. He stated the design 25 was approved and Mr. Hartman did a great job working with the Sister Cities Association in 26 getting a design and the project off the ground. 27 28 Mayor Faust reported attending the League of Minnesota Cities Legislative Conference. He 29 commented this session included all local Cities, Counties, and School districts meeting with 30 legislators. He stated this was the first time these three groups met together in total. He stressed 31 that when this group attends together, it has a bigger impact. Mayor Faust stated he would 32 continue to work with the school board. 33 34 Mayor Faust reported Council attended a former elected officials briefing on March 31, 2007. 35 He stated the accomplishments of 2006 and the goals for 2007 were presented. Mayor Faust 36 indicated the input from these individuals is invaluable. He stated this is the third year this has 37 been done. 38 39 Mayor Faust reported he met with the residents of Chandler Place on April 4, 2007 to share the 40 City's goals and accomplishments. 41 42 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. 43 44 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items not 45 on the regular agenda. 46
